One of the most complex tasks of our body is to maintain an upright position and balance when walking. Often, however, the body adapts to asymmetries and issues to find temporary relief, creating overloads on muscles and tendons. Consequently, the problem is shifted but not corrected, and it may worsen, particularly for individuals already affected by diabetes and rheumatic deformities. This problem of overloading becomes particularly dangerous for people with diabetes and rheumatism, which is why it is crucial to restore the right balance in time. 

Fito has developed a solution with the Rebalance
®system; this sole was designed by Fito to help people reduce metatarsal pain and re-ulceration caused by overload due to incorrect posture. The sole consists of a sandwich structure that encloses a rigid shank between two layers of EVA, allowing the wearer to guide their step and distribute weight from the forefoot evenly without stressing the metatarsals or specific areas, while maintaining comfort.


Rebalance
® ensures that the weight is distributed across the broad surface of the sole, rather than on a single point. This solution is applied both in the soles of footwear designed for people with diabetes, who require a specific product to prevent the recurrence of ulcers due to overload, and in the soles of post-operative footwear for individuals who have undergone surgery and therefore need proper posture to ensure the successful outcome of the operation.

The REBALANCE® technology in the midsole limits impact stresses, ensures grip, and stability over time. The sole’s rocker facilitates the step’s progression and reduces overloading on the forefoot.

HEEL STRIKE

For heel contact with the ground, the rear fins of the shank ensure controlled support to increase stability.

MID STANCE

During the mid-stance phase, when the foot is fully in contact with the ground, the central part of the shank, facing the ground, increases stability. The sole’s configuration also allows for the forefoot to be unloaded and reduces loads even in a static position.

HEEL OFF

During the heel-off phase, the sole and shank configuration facilitate the rolling motion of the forefoot and reduce pressure peaks.

TOE OFF

In the final phase of the step, we have the detachment of the toes from the ground, and the foot is transferred forward. In this phase, the central unloading of the shank reduces pressure peaks on the metatarsals and facilitates the rolling motion, providing momentum before the subsequent Heel Strike.
